The Gun Colture in the United States
A lot of people actually own firearms around the world. There's even a significant gun coulture in france and germany. Once you've jumped through some hurdles, it's easier to own certain things than machine guns. You don't just have a gun so you can hole up in your house in the zombe apocalype. You have a gun because you're part of a community,. And there's some value that we see in members of the community being armed - not just the state. It is much better to have more power balance an power in balance. Firearms absolutely provide that in trained, responsible, educated hands.
