There are a number of things that make this asian american identity somewhat elusive. The community is the most diverse of any community in terms of both education level and social economic background. A lot of immigrant communities who show up here don't give a shit about politics, just like, i'm just here to try and make a decent life for my family. So there's something of this fractious community, a lot of which is totally disengaged.
