Three to five milligrams, 30 to 60 minutes pre-bed, that's basically the rule of thumb for most people. Some people have to decide if they take way too much and then wake up later at night. Have you ever tried the slow release melatonin that's come out? Yeah, I don't notice much difference. It helps me sleep less easily. And I have no issues with staying asleep. So for me, it doesn't really do much.
