Dorno's "Jaz" Is a Liboratory Musical Medium

Jaz was by an large a black musical gene, emerging in the southern united states. Adorno says that it isn't totally surprising that jaz is taken up by all echalons of class society. Jaz provides ja as a kind of veneer of individual pos ability that escapes certain rigid structures. And so what we see here is an adaptation of jas music to all these different fields that keeps class structure intact.
