What Is the Enlightenment?
There are different Enlightenment's going on at the same time, but it's not coincidence is it? It took maybe three generations to get from Galileo to Newton. In England and in Scotland there is more of an emphasis upon a sort of empirical approach. The authority of individual experience suddenly becomes much more important. Adam Smith mostly really established economics as an independent discipline.
