The Incongruity of Amphibious House

Architectural firm Baca specialises in drawing up plans to live with water rather than constantly defending against it. We developed this amphibious house which actually sits in the ground and has a floating base so the whole building will actually lift up when the floodwater comes, buoyed by the water. It's difficult to predict but one real possibility is that as a result of climate change we may see more flooding events. Unless we create environments that can cope with flooding we're going to be in the same catch-up every time the levee breaks.
