The Role of Telomeres in Cancer

In the first piece of research, it's a gene on the why that causes cancer. The other one is that like it's the loss of the why that is indicative here and they're going in opposite directions. So I think you're on to something when you point out this is data driven, not hypothesis driven. And even if it were hypothesis driven, it would be narrowly mechanistically hypothesis driven, not evolutionarily. Whatever downstream applied medical benefits that happen as a result of this research are going to be narrow reductionist - at least as likely to be dangerous as helpful.
