The Relationship Between Male Literacy and Gender
By 17 14, around tea time, literacy levels were strongly gendered. Women were almost universally unable to sign their names in 15 hundred and by 16 hundred, only some ten % could do so. David cressy found that social status, occupation and location strongly affected the likelihood of your levelof literacy. There is a relationship between large urban centres and higher levels of literacy.
