"I was trying to figure out how to, and as you get older, it just becomes harder and harder to live within that construct," he says. "And so that was part of why looking back, I think that's part of why I started drinking pretty heavily because what I thought was like the way I should live my life is getting further and further away from what my life was looking like." His parents knew about his sobriety but didn't really see him drink or use.
