Alamezon, a Voyage of Lisclavage

Selch's family didn't speak much about their roots, so we didn't know a lot about his own ancestry. He only knew one story his grandfather told him about their family name, a homana. In the 1970s, Selch was in high school, a Guadalupean independent movement was born and the island went through a cultural revolution. The period sparked intense debates about race, ethnicity, national identity; for the first time, Selch began to think more deeply about his heritage.
