The Importance of Surgical Airway Precautions

If you have a patient with advanced lead wigs based on history and clinical exam, think twice before setting them directly to lie down in CT. As with all our patients, we want to try our best to avoid unstable patients crashing in the scanner. You should consider securing an aeroan, hires patients prior to imaging, or before transfer. Anyone with suspected lead wigs should be on very close airway precautions.
