When i started as a stand up, i was more a technical joke writer. And it was harder for me to be an honest joke teller about what was actually happening to me. I remember feeling that transition, and how much it's such an interesting, liberating feeling when you start hitting on that type of thing. It almost feels like they're not jokes, because they feel like statements that you just believe in. For me, the gold standard, and like story telling comedy, is when prior did sunset strip.
