What Is the CPI?
CPI stands for consumer price index, and there are a whole variety of different consumer price indexes. People who earn less money are hurt by inflation more than those with higher amounts of wealth. Inflation rates as measured by the CPI in the 1980s were 10, 12, 14%, which was devastating.
