The Southern Baptist Convention and Roe v Wade
In 1971 the Southern Baptist convention put out a resolution saying that society has a responsibility to affirm through the laws of the state a high view of the sanctity of human life including fetal life. In 1973 when Roe v. Wade was actually handed down a Baptist press reporter was outside the court and in his report again representing the Southern Baptist he said that the court had quote advanced the cause of religious liberty human equality injustice very much in favor of what the Supreme Court had just decided.
