The History of Linguistics

Ferdinand de Socior was an expert in languages, and he teaches linguistics. But throughout his career, those earlier career was specifically teaching specific languages. He ends up being more interested in the broader philosophy of language. It's when he is in Geneva that he begins to expound upon what is now called structuralism.
