The Importance of Constraints in Economics
Economists can't do experiments. We don't have a parallel universe in which Ben Bernanke did not become Fed Chair or the government did not conduct TARP bailouts. In principle we're trying to do things like physics, where we posit a set of models and then test those models with data. Two different decently trained economists should agree on any positive analysis subject to normal scientific uncertainty.
