QCDs may be taken after age 70 instead of RMDs on traditional IRAs. Normally taxes are paid on required minimum distributions but by giving some or all of them as QCDs the money goes to charity of your choice rather than the IRS. Paralegal is a very traditional field and even though a bachelor's is not required in any state I know of, firms may still require it by tradition.
