Both sides found it tactically advantageous in their struggle against czarist absolutism. Conservative liberals tended to see feminists as wayto radical making unrealistic demands for genera equality that would threaten the whole democratic movement. The socialists did not much like these feminists coming out of the bourgeois circles who were us too narrowly on winning legal equality and the right to vote.
