The Importance of Fear in Filmmaking
Filmmaking is all about exploitation, isn't it? It's all about taking some fear that people have and sticking the knife in it or a wiggling about a bit to see if we can make them hurt a bit more. That's exactly what they've been doing for the last few years. I mean, my Flanagan is my favorite of the current crop. He manages to capture the feel of 70s and 80s films, but still make them very, very modern. And he's one of the very, very few who can actually do that. Hush is one of my favorite home invasion films of the last decade or more.
