The Different Types of Emotions
Emotions are a kind of representation, although they exist in the brain and elsewhere as well. Fear is an emotion that represents the perception or belief of an acute threat. Disgust represents perceptions of a disease state or extrapolate to some kind of social or moral transgression. The type of state they represent is important because it's directly connected to survival instincts.
