Brene Brown points out that vulnerability without boundaries is not vulnerability. Here's a solid example for any parents out there. My son told my daughter, they're about 18 months apart the other day,. The other day, he told her out of the blue, and he was like, Mackenzie, your outfit sucks. And if you think about that type of situation, just because he's sharing something that is true does not automatically make it fall into all of these other categories.

One of the best ways to gain momentum during your career search is to reach out to employees at the company you want to work for, specifically key decision-makers. This will allow you to stand out among the sea of 500-1,000+ applications. When you go to make these connections, there are some simple, yet overlooked, strategies that are very effective to not only receive a response when doing this deliberate networking, but all get a response that could propel you into the role you are aiming for.
