The Home Ownership Programs of the 1970s and 1980s
By the early 19 70 certainly by 19 72, the scandal s or front page news in every major city in the united states. And it was really black home owners and filly that reported these conditions to their congressmen who then as very quick to summon a hearing. So some of that was politics. Some of that was democrats who had unceremoniously been removed from the presidency and had lost control of the programme. This was a johnson programme that was now under the auspices of nixon. But it very quickly grew into, ah, much more of that, because the scandals kept expanding wider and wider and wider.
