IDE Support and Lint Integration - What Does Good Kotlin Code Look Like?
Instagram will become Kotlin first in H2 of 2021. This means that all teams are encouraged to write new code in Kotlin. We actually had leaderboards of teams that were still committing code in Java. That also gave us an opportunity once we had lint support to kind of define, okay, if you're writing Kotlin at Instagram, what does good Kotlin code look like? And then in 2022, as more and more Kotlin was committed to the code base, we started addressing some problems and costs that arose out of Kotlin adoption.
