Cranial nerve eight is part of the peripheral nervous system or central nervous system. It's very common to have cranial neuropathies in Guillain Guillain one of my mentors used to call it Gabby syndrome that could turn out to be fatal. The strokes that we might be looking for here that can cause vertigo can be very small and they're in the posterior fossa.
