The Impetus of Mass Inincarceration

I think for me that the impetus of mass incarceration is in a way to remove huge sections of the population that are considered surplus. I don't, I'm not sure I would extend the term social reproduction to what happens inside prisons. It's more about the relationship between what's happening in inside prisons and social reproduction elsewhere. The tension that's happening for neo liberals at this time from the seven is is that they've created this system in which obviously capital investments can flow freely around the world.
