Da Vinci's Life and Times

In 1482 Da Vinci turns 30 and decides to leave Florence. He was already an innovator and recognized genius, but a remarkably unaccomplished one. All he had to show for his effort were some contributions to paintings he did jointly with Tokyo,. A couple of unfinished would-be masterpieces, and one undelivered portrait of a young woman. But even these pageants weren't enough for Leonardo. In his notebooks we have about a quarter of the notes that he took at the time.
