Anasthesia happens in the mid nineteenth century, and antisepsis not until the end of the nineteenth century. For about 20 years, surgeons refuse to use anaesthesia. The writhing of a surgical patient during an operation increased their energy levels,. And allowed them to survive the operation in a better condition. But so so away.
