When when I'm intending to lose weight I set my goal for the actual rate of weight loss I want but then I do give myself that slack where you know since I roughly know what my maintenance calories are at any given point in time. As long as I stay below whatever that maintenance figure is like I'm still in good shape it's been working really well for me. Having an unclear expectations about how hard you should push for a certain personality types meet personality type means you will push to an unreasonable degree or feel guilty about not pushing, he says.
