Is There a Spectrum of Possible Textures?
On some mobile devices, there's starting to be this kind of electrical effect that can make your finger feel as if there's something on the surface of your pone. But we still don't really quite know what that is. Even humans who are vision impaired in one way or another will have more sensitivity to different sounds, more touch sensitivity and so on. I'm not sure how well understood it is how those different brain areas get o intrained to be used for different purposes.
