The Dark Side of the Moon
The seasons are caused by the earth's 23-degree axial tilt. Different parts of the world receive different amounts of sunlight, depending on whether they're angled towards or away from the sun. The heat of reentry is not primarily caused by friction with the spaceship in the atmosphere. This idea of a dark side of the moon is sort of a nice romantic or poetic concept but there's no such thing.
