Reflections on God's Comfort and Fear of His Uncontrollable Nature

This is Part 10 in a series on the book of Jonah entitled “Surprised by Grace.”

In this message—“God is Not Safe”—we look at Jonah’s response to God’s mercy toward Jonah’s enemies—the Ninevites.

God does something here that Jonah doesn’t want God to do and Jonah is angry about it. In fact, he’s so angry about it that he wants to die.

If we’re honest, we have to admit that our inability to control what God chooses to do or not do scares us sometimes. And it’s this fear that exposes what we’re REALLY trusting in to make us feel safe and secure.
