There's so much gain to be had from having a larger network that it creates a virtuous cycle where you have the larger network, you bring in. A lot of acquisitions in tec ar much smaller scale, buying technology that is going to be plugged into existing products and networks. But overtime, as more bidders enter the market, that winners curse will apply, and mergers and acquisitions will go back to an average being mistakes.
