The Importance of Water in Life

I always think it's arrogant that we assume life is so intrinsically linked to water and therefore if they've got liquid water on a planet, you know, you've got life. But my view of it is this is a kind of anthropomorphic viewpoint here where we're talking about we know that on earth, water is important for life on earth. And so it seems to me quite reasonable to extract from that, that where else there is liquid water, there is the possibility of life. We just don't know. Maybe life is incredibly rare. Maybe it's not. I lean on the side of more probable than rare. That's my personal guess anyway.
