What Did Baldat Look Like in Your Childhood Book?
Baldat was one of the very first book from my own childhood that I remember, you know, how my parents were reading it to me that was the late 80s in the Soviet Union. So at the time you have during the Soviet era you have a peasant who is becoming because the Soviets needed to show that the peasant was doing well. The illustrations had to connect with today and not just be renditions of yesterday. This is what this is the one case study that I have in my book where I know exactly how the writer himself pictured the characters in the booksBecause he sketched his peasant and he sketches his priest.
