The Problems With the German Railways
The glue that keeps the vermat together is rail power. Germany starts with a very full and integrated railway network. The Soviet Union also has obviously steam power and railways, but they have bigger steam engines because they're going bigger distances. And what you don't want to be doing is constantly stopping every two minutes. It's not like building a Jeep or a truck. Or even a tank.
