What's Monatic Nosis?
Pythagorean numerical th ology was popular theology of the day. Early philosophers and scientists were trying to talk about how do we have something come from nothing? They ended up basing themselves on a theory of numbers, in which all reality must have stemmed from one single thing,. The number one or the monad - that's how you get multiplied numbers. And various different groups and philosophical sects take this in different ways but they all go back to an originally pythagorean or perhaps a few like neo-pythagorean core.
