Capital is the motor of modernity, it's fundamental infra structure is capital. And that is because capital is ad its adit ir, in its fundamentals, nothing but a self amplifying diagram. Anything that obviously inhibits that, that loop tends to be competed by something that inhibits it less. I if escape into capitalism isn't the escape you want, then history, modern history, is not for you.
