What Do My Gut Microbes Want to Eat?
ZOE: What should we be focusing on when we sit down to a meal? Is it diversity of plants? Is it nutrient content? I've come up with four or five rules that are breakable rules and, you know, more like general guidelines. One is have 30 different plants a week. The other point is fermented foods and having small amounts regularly is really important. And finally, having a long overnight fast is another way to help your gut microbes rest and help your metabolism.
