Is This Really a Good Payoff?
The typical economic payoff from an event like the Super Bowl or something like that is maybe a tenth of what the projections normally say. A lot of these sports stadiums are funded through public dollars and to the extent, we are subsidizing millionaires on the backs of the poor. I'm really kind of surprised there's not a little more outrage over this. But I think it's because people like shiny big sports stadiums and teams and things like that. If you don't build me a new stadium, I'll go to Las Vegas... And they don't pay any costs unseen or unseen. For Clevelander Anthony Rizzo: "I still care about when the Browns left Cleveland"
