I think, first of all, there's been more and more settlements. There was more in the way of genuine hope 30 years ago that they could work out like a two state solution. It just becomes less and less plausible that that can happen. I don't think they react to their situation anymore irrationally than say Americans reacted to 9 11. But at a certain point, people are not going to be worried about human rights abuses that much anymore.
