The Benefits of Self-Driving Cars
Self-driving cars are making fewer accidents than people do in some sense. But that's only because most of the accidents are done by very, very few people. That means the self-driving car is not better than an average driver. It's only better than a really bad driver. And the bad drivers are the problem. I suspect that's a problem of rent-seeking. Every thing that exists for a while is going to be filled with people that are trying to make a living in it. These people tend to be risk-averse. They are interested in some sense the perpetuation of the organization so they can have a job. As long as you are too big to fail
