Hepatosplenomegaly in a Child With Severe Pallor

The patient was hypertensive, tachycardic to the 140s and 10th percentile for growth. She had a systolic ejection murmur on her cardiac exam. The lack of hepatosplenomegaly may indicate that the patient has no signs of extra medullary hematopoiesis. This is all resulting from increased red cell destruction.
