The Difference Between Managers and Managers

I think more through sweat and perspiration than cerebral execution. I am in the camp that does distinguish between managers and leaders, perhaps mostly because we have accustomed to some basic differences between the two. It's often advised for people in really any support roles to do a tour of duty so you both have credibility and your recommendations are saluted. So it seems like a key success factor is your ability to identify future messes early - those who can evolve from manager to leader. My theory is for organization over long-term to be able to develop talent late on. And if that's true, then what about organizations as systems makes decisions?
