The New Testament says God's saving work is embodied in Jesus. Isaiah spoke of this when he saw Jesus. Joseph is told you shall name him Jesus, Joshua, Joshua for he will save his people from their sins. But yes, God with us to save God saves. Salvation is of the Lord.
