Machiavelli's Vire

In Latin, there are two words for man. The vire is the person who knows how to conquer fortune and rise above misfortune. Machiavelli also used a reflective verb called vogefsi which means 'to turn about' And it's sort of artistry as to how exactly you behave: You do good so far as you possibly can. But when you do evil, you must do your best to seem to be doing good.
