Slavery Disguised All at These Conventions

On July 13th, the convention chooses two representatives for the US Senate from Virginia. John Carlisle and Waitman T. Willing have been leading figures for years for West Virginia Statehood. The reality is a lot of delegates at the convention are either slaveholders or people who adopt this sort of moderate pro-slavery approach that we've been talking about.
