The Transformation of the Republican Party
The Republican Party is beginning to define a different kind of Republican Party. It seeks to identify a future for America that is unilateralist rather than multilateralist, where the US frees itself from constraints. The second big shift which ends the Republican Party being the outparty is what tends to be called the Southern strategy. So does it make sense anymore to still think of the great shift as having been the North-South shift that the Republicans underwent? Yes, it does.
