The First Second Amendment Case in Over a Decade
The court is poised to maybe decide its first Second Amendment case, sort of substantive Second Amendment case in over a decade. Justice Thomas has said on a number of occasions that the court is trying to relegate the Second Amendment to a second class. There is a real question about whether the court will hear this case at all. Whether it is this case or some other case, it seems very clear that this court is poisedto take up one of these cases and potentially dramatically weaken the ability of government to pass gun laws.
