The Different Types of Organs

As of January 31st, there were more than 100,000 patients on waiting lists for solid organs in the US. That's everything from kidneys, livers, lungs, heart, pancreas, and something called vascular composite aligraph - hand, uterus, and face. Many patients will lose eligibility for transplant either because of medical reasons or because they'll pass away before an organ can be available to them. President Biden has identified this national organ shortage as a major initiative of his presidency.
