Meditation is about doing nothing. Right effort is about teaching yourselve that it's ok to do nothing. As long as you're not like lying down and going to sleep, unless what you really needis nap,. If you can stay awake and stay relatively present with whatever is happening in your experience, that's called meditation. That's great. But the less that you are trying to do in meditation, the more i believe you're practising right effort that write.
